Gluten-Free Big Sky Turkey Burgers

BBQ is synonymous with spring and summer. We’ve taken our Gluten-Free Prairie Oatmeal and used it in place of breadcrumbs to help keep these delicious burgers together. We like to top ours with just about everything, so we need a nice big sturdy burger to do that. We think you’ll find this gluten-free burger recipe will quickly become a warm weather staple in your recipe box. We like to say, “It’s simple enough for camping, but fancy enough for company.”

Our Gluten-Free Prairie oats keep the turkey burgers moist in this gluten-free burger recipe!
Ingredients
  • 2 pounds ground turkey (or other burger)
  • ½ cup Gluten-Free Prairie Oatmeal
  • ¼ cup yellow onion, grated
  • 1 tablespoon gluten-free worcestershire sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ¼ cup gluten-free BBQ sauce
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional Additions:
  • Gluten-free hamburger buns
  • Green leaf lettuce
  • Thick sliced bacon cooked to your liking
  • Tomato
  • Cheese
  • Thousand island dressing
  • Red onion
  • Ketchup, mustard, etc.
Instructions
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Combine all the above ingredients in a bowl and lightly mix with your hands. You want the mixture to be light in texture, not dense.
  3. Use your hands to form the mixture into patties, about 4-5 inches across and about ¾ inch thick.
  4. Carefully grease your grill surface with oil using a paper towel and tongs so the burgers don’t stick to the grill. Watch for flare-ups here.
  5. Grill each side for about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Remove from grill after the burgers reach an internal temp of 165 degrees.
  7. Top with optional additions and enjoy!

    We just tried these delicious gf Big Sky gf burgers —. Absolutely delicious!, Thank you for sharing! I especially enjoyed your video since my family lived in Montana for several years on Churchill, between Manhattan & Belgrade. One of my sisters still lives in Amsterdam with her husband, so we do get up there every couple of years. I would love to look you up the next time I’m there. I’m celiac so definitely need to eat gluten free. Thank you again,

      Thanks for letting me know. Sorry I’m so late in responding. If you’re near Manhattan, send me an email and let me know. Our Bakery is mostly wholesale and that keeps us pretty busy so our retail store is rarely open. But L&F Food Farm 2 doors to the West of us has all of our products – a outlet prices. 🙂
