Ok, by all accounts it’s officially Fall. The leaves are golden and the Elk are bugling in the field. I love this time of year! After all, it’s the beginning of Baking Season and the Gluten-Free Prairie Kitchen is humming.
And Baking Season also means that Pumpkin Spice will be everywhere. Pumpkin Pie Spice of course is the unofficial official flavor of Fall. The problem is that I’m just not ready to commit. I’m just not ready for 10 weeks of Pumpkin Pie Spice. So, I’m easing into Fall with my favorite transitionary spice: Orange Spice.
This super simple pudding cake is based on another one of my Mom’s favorite recipes. Of course, she used a Pillsbury Yellow Cake Mix. I adapted Mom’s recipe using our Simple Wholesome Baking Mix and we amazed. It’s moist and rich and, best of all, No One believes it’s gluten-free.
Bonus: your kitchen will smell like orange spice too.
