Our Gluten-Free family tried just about every gluten-free baking mix that claims to be a “cup-for-cup” replacement for all-purpose flour. Finally we decided to try our own and we were amazed.
Finally a truly wholesome all-purpose gluten-free cup 4 cup flour blend for ALL of your baking needs. Try it in any recipe as a cup for cup replacement for wheat flour. Preservative free with absolutely no rice , no Xanthan gums or fillers of any kind our blend makes great pancakes and biscuits, brownies and even crepes.

Heat lightly oiled griddle on medium/low heat for about 10 min
Before you start! NOTE: The secret to this recipe is NOT to over mix it.
- 1 cup Gluten-Free Prairie Simply Wholesome All-Purpose Flour / Baking Mix
- 2 tablespoons pure cane sugar (or sugar substitute)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk (or milk substitute)
- 1 beaten egg
- 2 tablespoons vegetable or coconut oil
Blend Simply Wholesome baking mix, sugar, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl.
In another bowl blend milk, egg and oil together
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in wet ingredients
Using a whisk or wooden spoon, hand blend together just until smooth (do not use a mixer)
NOTE: Batter will be very thin
Pour about ¼ cup (or less for silver dollar pancakes) onto griddle. Adjusting heat as you go, brown each side– turning only once for best results.
Why are we so excited about this new baking mix? With higher protein than most gluten free flour blends this simply perfect for a gluten-free diet that can often be lacking in protein. But the proof is in the gluten free baking. We think you’ll be amazed. We hope you’ll let us know.
Note: I don’t use any gums or fillers, it’s just a personal preference. But to increase loft and structure in your recipe, simply add Xanthan or other gums according to your recipe.
